Goodwill TalentBridge is partnering with a premier client in Skokie, IL for a Maintenance Technician Level 2 with mechanical aptitude fixing machinery, repairs, and building maintenance. This role will collaborate with other departments in a fast-paced entrepreneurial scientific organization.
Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Pay: up to $35 an hour
Onsite Location: Skokie, IL
6-month contract with possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on infrastructure systems including gas management, autoclaves, fermenters, RO systems, anaerobic chambers, dishwashers, MFCs, Moxas, vacuum pumps, and commercial deployment equipment.
- Respond to operational emergencies and assist with electrical, plumbing, and equipment repairs.
- Maintain safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and first aid kits.
- Accurately document maintenance activities in the system (e.g., NetSuite).
- Review technical manuals and provide training to peers and end-users on safe equipment operation.
- Receive, unpack, and set up large equipment deliveries.
- Support waste management and daily operational tasks.
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure parts are adequately stocked for maintenance activities
- Promote and adhere to Health & Safety standards; report concerns as needed.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned
