Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting qualified candidates to work as Instructional Aides in the Brookfield & West Allis areas. This is a direct hire opportunity!

This position is responsible for providing direct care to youth and young adults with special needs. These individuals have been diagnosed with neurological and developmental disabilities and need support in classroom environments, on outings and field trips in the community when appropriate.  First shift hours in Brookfield and West Allis, WI. Complete benefits package plus Employee Stock Ownership Plan
 
Instructional Aide Responsibilities:
 
As an Instructional Aide you will be responsible to:
 
• Facilitate learning activities for students and help students with personal cares
• Be involved in behavior/crisis intervention and incident report-writing
• Administer medication
• Accompany students and camp attendees on outings/field trips
 
Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent and must be at least 18 years old
  • Good judgement, ability to make quick decisions, and problem solve
  • Demonstrated skill and/or potential in working with individuals with special needs in a supportive environment.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills and ability to maintain self-composure and self-control under stressful conditions
  • Ability to remain comfortable and composed when clients may exhibit aggressive, challenging, or offensive behaviors
  • Access to an insured vehicle is strongly preferred
  • Successful completion of a caregiver background check as mandated by Wisconsin Chapter DHS 12
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License & active automobile insurance a plus but not required
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment TB test and health screen

Job Type: Full-time Salary: $14.00
