Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Associate - Picker/Packer to work in the West Allis, WI area.

Payrate: Starts at $20/hr and goes up based on experience
Schedule: 1st Shift; open to 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Located at the warehouse of a local hospital system, this position is responsible for accurate picking, packing, stocking and transportation of medsurg supplies required in the care of our patients. Basic supply chain functions including FIFO stock rotation and expiration audits also required. Overall expectations include working quickly, safely and efficiently to handle product within the warehouse and ensure the accurate processing of supplies to our customers.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect the client's values and support their mission and vision.
  • Picks, and packs, requisitions for all hospital locations based on the established delivery schedule.
  • Replenishes and rotates warehouse stock.
  • Checks for expired stock.
  • Rotates overstock to proper pick face locations.
  • Completes cycle counts.
  • Maintains assigned locations within the warehouse to include expiration audits, stock accessibility and general cleanliness.
  • Will assist the Supervisor insure the warehouse is maintained in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Processes returns for credit, and corrects picking inaccuracy.
  • Utilizes the PeopleSoft Materials Management Information System (MMIS), to perform all daily activities related to supplies within the warehouse.
  • Greets and assist patients and families picking up nutritional products.
  • Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
  • Takes call to meet staffing needs of the supply chain division. (may apply to casual employees only)
  • May drive vehicles as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a service related environment preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk 95% of the time.
  • Work independently to pick, pack and ship orders.
  • Able to use equipment commonly associated with warehouse shipping and receiving, i.e., fork lifts/trucks, order pickers, pallet jacks, wheeled hand trucks, dollies, balers, and IT equipment such hand held devices, computers, printers and copy machines.
  • Ability to individually lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds and the ability to push/pull carts requiring up to 40 pounds of effort to initiate movement.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Windows based software required with Outlook, Excel, and Word experience preferred.
  • Experience with an automated Materials Management Information System (MMIS) or similar computer system that has on-line functions is strongly preferred.
  • Requires flexibility to be available for on-call to meet department needs (e.g., emergency access to the warehouse or restock of trauma cart), as well as for potential shift rotation.
  • This individual must possess a strong sense of personal accountability, service orientation, sensitivity and responsiveness to the requests of user departments.
  • Ability to interact well with others and provide high levels of customer service.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills, along with the ability to make decisions that directly affect patient care.
