Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting for a Technician 3 to work in the Buffalo Grove area.

The Operator Technician III is responsible for the startup, operation and total productive maintenance of molding and/or assembly equipment, and the packaging of molded and/or assembled components per company and customer specifications.


  • Support and maintain all policies of the company, including but not limited to, ISO, environment, health and safety, continuous improvement, good manufacturing practices, and standard work procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work space and 5S standards in all work areas.
  • Complete visual inspection of product per production specification for defects.
  • Report identified visual defects to Supervisor or Operator Technician III.
  • Enter daily production and scrap data into Mattec.
  • Operate molding, assembly and/or packaging equipment as required per product specifications and/or work instructions.
  • Complete production and workstation documentation as required.
  • Package and label product per customer specification inside and outside of the clean rooms (this may include the following or alternate responsibilities: forming/taping and labeling boxes, lifting product from totes into boxes, placing boxes on pallets, and returning empty totes to clean room.)
  • Maintain lean initiatives and participate in lean projects.
  • Provide suggestions and take an active role in process improvements to eliminate non-value added activity.
  • Review required documentation out of TMS to assist with quality-related decisions.
  • Retrieve required documentation out of TMS to assist with quality-related decisions. (T3)
  • Start and stop injection molding equipment and/or assembly equipment after initial start-up. (T2)
  • Answer equipment alarms. (T2)
  • Clean injection molding and/or assembly equipment as required per work instructions. (T2)
  • Complete assembly and auxiliary equipment Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities. (T2)
  • Complete injection molding equipment and mold Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities. (T2)
  • Responsible for Kanban system associated with work cell to ensure materials are properly staged. (T2)
  • Perform scale set-up and operation of scales.(T2)
  • Complete LRPs, including opening and closing of lots, ensuring all paperwork is mistake free. (T2)
  • Utilize SAP to manage LRP labels and documents. (T2)
  • Complete cycle checklist. (T2)
  • Retrieve required documentation out of TMS to assist with quality-related decisions. (T3)
  • Perform line clearances as required. (T3)
  • Provide support to Production Supervisor as needed. (T3)
  • Perform mold and/or assembly changeovers. (T3)
  • Load the validated master cycle parameters into the Injection Molding machine at each startup. (T3)
  • Load programs into and align automated and robotic systems. (T3)
  • Ensure Injection Molding and/or Assembly machines are running to standard and ensuring product quality meets specification at each startup. (T3)
  • Troubleshoot injection molding and/or assembly processes. (T3)
  • Perform color changes and material lots as required, and complete trace-ability documentation. (T3)
  • Perform LOTO (lock out/tag out) of any unsafe equipment. (T3)
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High School Diploma or GED or Injection Molding Machine Experience required
  • Basic math skills
  • PC Skills

Work Environment

  • Works in a clean manufacturing and warehouse environment that may include moderate noise levels
  • Able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
  • Stand and walk 90% of the shift to and from machines, buildings and/or clean rooms
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, grab and climb
