Goodwill TalentBridge is recruiting a Tax Expert in this direct hire role with our client, a wealth management firm located in Brookfield, WI.   In this role you will collaborate with firm leadership to manage complex tax returns for a unique clientele. Primary responsibilities include overseeing projects and schedules, supervising client service teams, and reviewing the work prepared by the staff accounting team

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review complex tax planning projections for individual and corporate estimated tax liability
  • Review complex federal and state individual income, partnership, S-Corp, foundation, gift tax, and estate tax returns
  • Conduct and/or oversee complex tax research and present findings and conclusions
  • Respond to IRS and state taxing authority audits, inquiries, and tax notices
  • Communicate with IRS and state taxing authorities and clients in connection with audits, inquiries, and tax notices
  • Delegate tax projects to staff and provide tax assistance as needed
  • Communicate directly with existing clients, colleagues, management, and IRS and state taxing authorities regarding various tax matters
  • Resource for staff regarding tax law and assist in training staff in tax related matters
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directing tax work completed by staff and act as a resource to answer tax related questions.

 

Requirements:

Qualifications
Subject matter expert regarding current Tax law and changes. CPA certification required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other major with tax and accounting emphasis. 10 + years' experience in public accounting with  experience preparing and reviewing various types of tax returns (trust, partnership, corporate, individual etc.) and financial statements required.

Computer Skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is required. Knowledge of ProSystem Tax is desired and the ability to learn other software packages as needed.
