Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting qualified candidates to work as Special Education Teachers in the West Allis area.  This is a direct hire opportunity!

This position is responsible for providing educational services to students in conjunction with the Education Curriculum Coordinator.

Essential Functions:

  • Functions with legal, licensing, school and professional standards in maintaining a therapeutic and education environment for students
  • Provides appropriate individualized education within the IEP.
  • Maintain a classroom environment and activities are conductive to student development of academics, independence, competence, and sense of self-worth
  • may provide work direction and oversight to Instructional Aides working in their classroom. Assures Aides remain on task and that their actions contribute to meeting the goals outlined in the students IEP's
  • Demonstrates initiative in developing and implementing new programming. Incorporates new instructional models and assessment techniques to assure optimum educational standards and abilities to reach students' changing needs

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
  • Active License in Special Education issued by the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in the academic and functional level for classroom assignment
  • experience working with emotionally disturbed or cognitively disabled individuals preferred
  • remains calm under pressure and maintains self-composure / self-control in high stress or when others are excited

Job Type: Full-time, Salary: $40,000.00 /year
