Goodwill TalentBridge is actively recruiting for Sort Machine Operator in the Elgin IL area! This position is responsible for operating a sorting machine to meet customer requirements and ensure the product is free of mixtures and defects. Sort Machine Operator will also work in a team setting to reach warehouse operations goals.
SCHEDULE:
Temp-to-hire opportunity on 2nd shift
- M-F + potential overtime based on business need
- 2nd Shift: 1:00PM -9:30PM
- Pay: $20.00-$21.00 an hour based on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Start up the machine and performs daily checks to detect malfunctions of the machine.
- Programs parts by setting the parameters into each machine.
- Troubleshoots and reports any malfunctioning machinery to supervisor and maintenance.
- Performs daily maintenance and setups to ensure good operation of machines.
- Prints labels and affixes shipping and special labels on cartons for designated customers.
- Prepares product to ship, free of mixtures and product defects.
- Operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks)
- Drives a variety of forklift trucks to move and store cartons on racks in the warehouse.
- Observe all the safety policies and procedures; maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Contribute towards process improvement within job parameters
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED, required
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment
- MUST have Previous Machine Operating Experience, required
- Ability to complete routine production and quality reports
- Must be able to work scheduled hours (Mon – Fri) plus overtime as required; may be required to work occasional weekends
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment
- Forklift experience required
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic computer and math knowledge
