Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting an SMT Process Technician to work in the Wheeling area.


Incumbent will manage product movement and personnel within the areas of SMT (Surface Mount), SMT stockroom, and Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Lead the areas of SMT, SMT Stockroom, and Maintenance in daily, weekly, monthly and yearly tasks on personnel issues, product movement, quality process improvements and training. Create daily production schedules.  Communicate information and support management decision through out production floor. Approve vacation scheduling.Assist in movement of people to other areas when production requirements change.Adhere to and administer company policy as required.


Manages subordinate cell captains who supervise 5-15 individuals in the SMT (all shifts) team.  Responsibilities include the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of SMT, SMT Stockroom, and Maintenance on all shifts.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have familiarity with PC.


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

This individual must work near moving mechanical parts one-third to two-thirds of the time.

The typical amount of noise in this environment is Moderate (business office with computers, and printers, light traffic)

Additional Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required - High School Verification is part of the pre-placement process
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Manufacturing experience
  • basic math and equipment measurement skills
  • good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Repetitive heavy lifting may be required
