Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting for a Purchasing, Inventory & Shipping Clerk to work in the Milwaukee area.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Purchasing, Inventory, and Shipping Clerk assists the Purchasing Manager in all purchasing, inventory and warehouse functions to support services at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Inc. They also assist in the maintenance of accurate records of purchases, usage and in-stock status of pharmaceuticals, equipment, and other products used regularly through the organization. They will strive to provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.  The Purchasing, Inventory and Shipping Clerk will facilitate and provide accurate detail to maintain all aspects of day to day operations including reporting, supporting, facilitating, maintaining and following best practices within the Purchasing Department.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Purchasing:

  • Approves and releases orders from on-line ordering system; this includes accuracy in ordering product, checking units requested and matching PARS; communicating discrepancies and / or changes to customers.
  • Print invoices for processing, matching to packing slips; checking for accuracy of pricing, units; tracking back-orders and noting discrepancies.
  • Processing purchase orders as needed.

Inventory:

  • Conduct all inventory activities including ordering product, processing inventory, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Participate in all aspect of inventory control, shipping, receiving, and stocking of PPWI products.
  • Tracks inventory flow to maintain inventory levels and stock levels.
  • Performs inventory/cycle counts.

Shipping:

  • Picks, packs, and prepare packages for shipment to our internal/external customers.
  • Receives, inspects, records and logs all materials into inventory database, store/file records and reports.
  • Maintain all UPS shipment information and documents.
  • Maintains all records of communication between clients, centers, and staff to provide excellent customer service and tracking of products.
  • Notify companies of damaged shipments and prepare appropriate paperwork for return or credit.
  • Assists in maintaining vendor information on transactions, quality of service, and performance for current information and future service needs/assessments.
  • Processes all returned and expired goods in a timely manner for credit.
  • Maintains loading dock and warehouse in an organized, clean manner.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The position is generally performed in a warehouse environment but involves frequent interruptions.  The noise level is generally low to quiet.  The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.  Reasonable accommodations, however, may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform said essential functions.

Requirements:

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and technical skills are essential. Must demonstrate high standards of customer service and a drive or motivation to complete assignments within time constraints under minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.  They must have a knowledge base of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within purchasing, inventory and shipping.  Must have experience with UPS World Ship software and website, order tracking, shipment reconciliation, inventory and order applications, Excel, Word, and Outlook.  Knowledge of automated purchasing/inventory systems is a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

This position requires a high school diploma and minimum of 2 years of job related experience in purchasing, inventory, and shipping.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  The position is predominantly non-sedentary, requiring the ability to sit, bend, stand and walk. This position requires stooping, reaching, stair-climbing and repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard. It also requires kneeling, pushing/pulling and repetitive motions of the feet.

Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling and grasping regularly. Repetitive lifting of up to 30 pounds and occasionally requires lifting of above 30 pounds. Specific vision conditions include close vision reading. They must have the ability to operate a computer, telephone, copy machine, mail meter, and calculator.
