Procurement Manager - Direct Hire!!!

Goodwill TalentBridge is seeking an individual with expertise in purchasing steel in various forms to work with our client in this direct hire role as a Procurement Manager.  Our client is a global manufacturer of metal components.  This role is responsible for analyzing the current buying system and developing a standard operating procedure for day-to-day purchasing activities.  The ability to negotiate and manage vendors in a manufacturing environment is critical for success. Essential Duties

  • Negotiate and execute pricing, process improvements, payment terms and service guarantees with vendors  
  • Develop metrics to gauge and maintain inventory levels
  • Audit vendor performance for annual renewal process
  • Collaborate with operations, distribution and finance leadership teams
  • Build relationships with current vendor network and identify new vendor partners 
  • Review quotes for raw material     
  • Manage cost for delivery of product including freight and packaging
  • Contract carriers based on price and on time delivery 
  • Resolve claims and other issues related to quality and delivery   
  • Assist distribution team as needed


Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration 
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of procurement management experience
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office, ERP operating systems
