Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting Press Operators to work in the Pleasant Prairie, WI area.

Our client manufactures lids and labels for food containers. In addition, the company is family owned and offers benefits for medical, dental, vision, plus company matching with 401k policies. 

SUMMARY

Press operators are responsible for setting up and maintaining a multi-color flexographic press using water-based, UV and solvent inks. The press operator must manage all aspects of the press performance including productivity and quality and must also have a strong understanding of commonly used concepts, practices and company procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*Food safety or quality responsibilities within job. All staff are responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues to those that can initiate action.

  1. Ensure that product is printed according to specification
    .
  2. Pulls job tickets and verify that stock and inks are available and correct.

  3. Verifies that aniloxes and plate cylinders are correct.

  4. Sets –up machine: installs aniloxes, inks, and stock and plate cylinders.

  5. Sets impression and registers to print.

  6. Complete Global Vision scan and obtain supervision verification.

  7. Completes all start –up checks and obtains art approval.

  8. Completes in- process inspections, follows work instructions and controls print quality.

  9. Closes out job by completely and accurately filling out paper work and scanning in all labor and material usage.

  10. Washes up previous job before starting next.

  11. Maintains pH and viscosity for all inks during the production run.

  12. Ability to manage the schedule as assigned

  13. *Responsible for the quality of their work and implementation of the food safety/quality procedures applicable to the processes that they perform.

  14. *Complete daily end of shift weekly and monthly 5S cleaning.

  15. Report daily production accurately using the scanning system.

  16. *Report all safety incidents or concerns.

  17. *Responsible to report any food safety/quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action – SQF Practitioner or direct supervisor.

  18. Must be able to detect defects in print when running press at full speed.

  19. Read and understand the travelers and follow all instructions.

  20. Mount plates.

  21. Demount and wash plates.

  22. Clean and change doctor blades.

  23. Follow the make ready and wash up process.

  24. Operate the rewind table.

  25. Ink up a deck.

  26. Put rolls on and off machine.

  27. Wash up a deck.

  28. Be familiar with Quality Test Work Instructions and procedures.
