Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting for a Plastics Injection Molding Engineer to work in the Lake Zurich, IL area.

This position is full time, first shift, and DIRECT HIRE.

The Plastics Injection Molding Engineer position performs equipment and processes from product development to production, as well as improvements in equipment, tooling, and processes for ongoing production.


  • Facilitate daily support and problem-solving issues on the production floor
  • Support R&D efforts in development of new tooling and work with R&D in transferring the project to manufacturing following a checklist
  • Responsible for coordinating and participating in the tool first production run, including documentations and verifying acceptance through OEE goals
  • Development of manufacturing processes for acceptable throughput and yield
  • Train production personnel in die equipment and line start setups
  • Manage process validation set up documents
  • Coordination of process qualification and operational qualification of processes used in manufacturing products
  • Engage and handoff activities to production with new dies and processes
  • Review of safety issues with equipment and processes and implementation of procedures and equipment modifications
  • Production line layout
  • Injection Molding knowledge required
  • Implement improvements to existing dies and process and participate in teaching the stamping die best practices to production personnel
  • Follow ISO/IATF, safety, and environmental procedures as well as department and corporate policies and procedures




  • Working knowledge of APQP or equivalent gated product development processes and lean techniques
  • Elevated proficiency with Microsoft Office software package; specifically, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong experience with 2D and 3D CAD software; preferably Auto Cad and Solid Works
  • Solidworks knowledge a Plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferred but not required
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry; product and/or tooling development for metal manufacturing (fastener) experience preferred
  • Experience in automotive industry is highly beneficial
