​​​​​​​Goodwill TalentBridge along with our client is currently recruiting for a Payroll Coordinator to work in the Chicago, IL area.


  • Administrate all payroll tax-related tasks including register for new states, closing old accounts, researching and resolve all tax notices with third party payroll systems (Ultipro, ADP, Payforce, Gusto) and appropriate tax agencies via phone, as needed
  • Manage and maintain Payroll email inbox; assigning emails, creating UKG cases
  • As needed, providing transaction-level support for payroll processing or other projects supporting domestic and international payroll.
  • Create and/or run ad hoc financial and operational reporting, as needed.
  • Update and reconcile monthly payroll bank transactions
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Utilize technology to drive continuous improvement to Payroll processes, reports, and controls



You’ll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:

  • Working knowledge of UKG/Ultipro and related reporting tools
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State payroll policies, including FLSA laws, overtime, and termination regulations
  • Experience handling and resolving tax-related issues directly with state and federal tax agencies; agency calls
  • 2-4 years of experience in a fast-paced payroll environment exhibiting proficiency in all aspects of day-to-day payroll operations under the financial umbrella.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • certified payroll professional (CPP) or Fundamental payroll certification (FPC) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles and accounting systems; Netsuite experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software program

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
