Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting for a Mortgage Loan Closer to work in the North Chicago, IL area.  


SUMMARY

Reporting directly to and under the supervision of the Sr Manager, Underwriting and Servicing, the Mortgage Loan Closer is primarily responsible for closing mortgage loan applications in a timely fashion and in compliance with all regulatory and investor guidelines. The individual will contribute to the achievement of the growth and profitability of the residential lending team. The closer must maintain full knowledge of all aspects of residential mortgage banking, as well as all of the following products: FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC and Jumbo loans. Must maintain a strong knowledge of all procedures and applicable regulations to support compliance and quality control objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Assemble, prepare and verify accurate and complete closing documents in compliance with all regulatory and company guidelines, including but not limited to, the preparation and delivery of preliminary closing disclosures (CD) as well as a final CD.
    Assure all federal and state regulations (including TRID) are followed in the completion of job duties.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the closing process: Communicate with the closing attorney, closing agent/title company(s), members/borrowers, loan processors, MLO’s and all others involved with the transaction.
  • Maintain confidentiality of borrower information.
  • Maintain and demonstrate proficiency with Encompass loan origination system.
  • Review each loan for compliance with all regulatory and investor guidelines, prior to issuing CD, as well as after the closing when the closed documents are returned.
  • Work with member to insure documents are collected and conditions, in the event items were not properly collected at closing.
  • Close between 20 – 30 loans monthly.
  • Review lock-in agreements to insure closing/funding occurs within lock period.
  • Participate in all required training sessions to increase knowledge and ensure compliance with all regulatory and investor requirements.
  • Maintain adequate control of files to ensure compliance with all consumer protection statutes/ regulations in a defined area of responsibility.
  • Work with Mortgage Loan Officers on closing scheduling management to ensure member/borrower expectations are met.
  • Participates in the review and recommendations of operational systems and procedures.
  • Successfully interact with staff to improve accuracies and efficiencies.
  • Follow-up on closed loan documentation to ensure compliance with all Secondary Marketing, Government and Investor demands, as needed.
  • Remain current with our Lender/Investor programs.
  • Attend sales and operations meetings, as needed.
  • Communicate and work directly for the Sr, Manager, Underwriting and Operations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience
  • A high school education or GED
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential for the job - Work involves much contact with internal/external members
