Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, has an opening for a Maintenance Technician with a minimum of two years experience. This is a DIRECT-HIRE opportunity with our client located on the far northside of Racine. 

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. Including, but not limited to, extruders, conveyors, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action, and by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing preventive maintenance inspections and repairs. Diagnosis, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components as needed.
  • Establishes and adjusts repair and maintenance procedures and schedules to meet and maintain production schedules.
  • Advises plant manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed in a timely manner.
  • Inspects the quality and completion of third-party repairs or service work.
  • Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
  • Performs service calls for emergency or after-hours breakdowns.
  • Ability to work effectively under limited supervision.
  • Requires a flexible work schedule, which may include some nights and weekends to support production schedule and the needs of the facility.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and efficient work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards and commonly established work practices.

Requirements:

Maintenance skills required, but not limited to:

  • A working knowledge of three phase and single-phase motor controls.
  • Motorized conveyor systems.
  • Must have good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
  • PLC experience a plus.
  • Experience in operating forklifts, scissors lifts, with skid steer and wheel loader experience a plus.
  • Experienced in the operation and use of a wide variety of maintenance equipment including wire feed and stick welders, plasma cutter, drill press, band saws, hand and power tools.
  • Proficient in welding and metal fabrication a must.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including basic air compressor operation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 per hour
