1st shift M-F 6am-3:30pm!
$25.50 based on experience!

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The following reflects essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. It is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as the company may deem necessary.

  • Trains and mentors’ inspectors on team
  • Answers questions when needed
  • Submit daily and weekly inspections reports
  • Arrange jobs and personnel according to needs
  • Monitors and confirms that hot jobs get done
  • Submit Non-Conformance reports for goods failing inspection
  • Assist the engineers with any questions on new products
  • Inspects components to determine if they are conforming to specifications
  • Perform basic statistical studies as needed
  • Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders and engineering specs
  • Calibrate and perform additional daily studies on gauges
  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying them
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
  • Record inspection data using established programs and software
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations
  • Complete any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Responsible for creating list of items needed for inspection each day
  • Process NCMR’s written for line rejects or written by the incoming inspectors
  • Flex between inspection department when needed

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads a team of inspectors in the quality lab.

 

Requirements:

 

Education and Experience

  • A high school graduate or GED
  • 5+ years’ experience in mechanical inspection and manufacturing environment
  • Ability to follow inspection processes and plans
  • Experience with quality control equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, surface, comparator, roughness gauges, etc.
  • Experience with advanced quality control equipment such as: Hommel, Keyence, Spring tester, Hardness tester preferred
  • Experience using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Optical comparator or other complex inspection systems
  • Proficient with MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with GD&T technical specifications, Work Instructions and drawings
  • The ability to see details at close range
  • Train level I and II quality control inspectors and other new hires for different quality departments
  • Work independently with little supervision
  • Exhibit ethical independence and judgment of the parts and process
  • Clear communication/effective interaction with other departments/suppliers
  • Visually inspects products using a scope or other tools using lot sampling methods, first article checks, or (occasionally) 100% inspection

 

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time
  • Lift and move a minimum of 30 pounds without assistance
  • Working with small parts
  • Repetitive hand/arm use

 

Work Environment

  • Some of the work time is spent in a warehouse environment where temperatures are often warm or cool, depending upon the season, and noise level can be moderate to high
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
