As a Service Engineer, your job is to act as a liaison between OEM’s, Customers, and Distributors when it comes to areas of diagnosis, maintenance, repair, reporting, and failure analysis of engines and generators. Additional responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
- Act as the primary service contact for remanufactured products.
- Provide support to customers in the field to identify and verify issues and causes (is, is-not).
- Apply root cause analysis methods to identify and resolve complex quality issues.
- Investigate engine component failures and trends, analyzing past warranty claims.
- Identify risks of high failure rate parts using trending analysis principles.
- Transfer findings into technical reports.
- Create quality and failure reports.
- Interact with satellite offices overseas (Japan).
- Assist in creating and maintaining Service Documentation for ISO Compliance.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and provide input to KPI processes and compliance.
- Perform BOM comparisons, providing recommendations on material substitutions.
- Coordinate investigation activities with the Warranty & Parts departments.
- Create action requests and send overseas.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and topics.
- Assist with other projects as needed.
Requirements:
LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- At least 5 years of proven experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting diesel, gas, and LPG engine concerns.
- Engineering and mechanics background/knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (Charting, Pivot Tables, Graphs, Building Databases, etc.); Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to utilize test equipment in order to diagnose engines and component failure.
- Must be able to develop, propose, and implement field service processes.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel 35% of the time, domestically & internationally!
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
