Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting for an Industrial Electrician / Panel Builder to work in the Arlington Heights, IL area.

SUMMARY

The industrial electrician and panel builder will be responsible for installing machine controls on our custom automation equipment. Tasks include performing electrical panel wiring, field wiring, pneumatic plumbing, troubleshooting and machine integration of industrial automated equipment. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Panel Construction. Build and wire panels from scratch reading electrical schematics.
  • Field wiring to either the panel I/O or field mount I/O devices.
  • Pneumatic plumbing, must be able to read and understand Pneumatic schematics
  • Mounting electrical controls components to the machine, and fabricating mounting brackets as required.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and mount NEMA type cable trough to cleanly wire machines.
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical schematic
  • Must be able to travel to install equipment at our customers facilities (up to 10% of the time).
  • Interact with project team (i.e. Controls Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Assemblers, Project Manager, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and debug (i.e. diagnoses trouble or defects, determines corrective action and repairs system).
  • Ensure that all equipment is in proper working condition after troubleshooting.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on automation system and components.
  • Provide status updates to management on assigned projects.
  • Comply with the company’s safety procedures such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out etc.
  • Facility is fully air conditioned.

 

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or technical school course work or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • 2+ years of experience wiring automated equipment.
  • Ability to read/understand electrical schematics and create redlines.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Ability to use computer to print our wire labels.
  • Employees must provide their own basic set of hand tools
  • Familiarity with machine shop equipment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills of electrical controls systems
  • Proficient in metric systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others, and have a positive attitude
  • Must have ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Sharp, quick, dedicated, and innovative problem solver
  • Must be organized, creative, results-oriented, focused, and attentive to detail
  • Exhibits continuous improvement
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license

 

Salary and Work Schedule:

  • Salary range between $22/hr. - $35/hr. depending on experience level
  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday. hours are 6:30am – 3:00pm. Over time is available
