Goodwill Talentbridge is looking for a direct hire Human Resources Manager for a premier client in Morton Grove.

Position Summary:

As the business partner to the Leadership Team and Departmental Leadership, the Human Resources Manager will aid the support and development of the company’s strategy and culture through its people, policies, and trainings. They will lead the Human Resources, Legal, Payroll, Risk Management, and People Services while working cross-functionally to support and promote legal and ethical compliances while growing the employees to make the company a dynamic and preferred employer.

Duties/Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.

  • Direct reporting and analysis of the Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Training, Compliance, Legal, Environmental Health and Safety, and Risk Management functions.
  • Assist with the annual operating budget process including head count recommendations based upon organizational strategy and goals, and work with executives and department directors on business cases.
  • Oversee the Total Rewards and benefit strategies to ensure talent retention while maintaining financial responsibility.
  • Ensure internal legal compliances follow internal policies and external regulations. Identify relevant best practices for application to the organization
  • Provide effective support and communication to the CFO and Leadership Team
  • Ensure that people assets of the organization are safeguarded and properly accounted for especially as it relates to environment health and safety and workman’s compensation.
  • Manage the technology products used for the Human Resources, EHS, and Workman’s Compensation function to include training, optimization of functionality to increase productivity and provide business insights for staff.
  • Work closely with department directors to identify reporting needs for their departments in order to achieve their functional goals.
  • Helps prepare presentations and talking points for various presentations.
  • Manage and Prepare Performance and Succession Management for the company.
  • Lead the Talent Acquisition and recruitment lifecycles to ensure reduced time to fill, turnover, and increases in employee retention.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years of education or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources.
  • Prior experience managing a Human Resources department is required
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to handle complex tasks and solve problems creatively and pragmatically.
  • Demonstrated strategic agility.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and collaborative environment and grasp complex legal, financial, and operational matters.
  • Ability to present data in a logical, concise manner and skilled in managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment as well as independently and possess the skills needed to strategically lead teams in achieving their goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in a manufacturing or warehouse setting about 25% of the time.
  • Work in an office setting about 75% of the time.
  • Sedentary/sitting for about 80% of the time
  • Walking and standing about 20% of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. on occasion.
