Goodwill Talentbridge is seeking a temp to hire Document Control Specialist / Office Assistant for a premier client in Waukegan.

The Document Control / Office Assistant is responsible for managing, controlling, updating, releasing and preserving all Engineering documents. They will work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Quality, Accounting, and Marketing to ensure only accurate and complete information is released. Their job is to organize documents by date, department, or project type to retrieve documents for employees in a quick and efficient manner. They may also be responsible for overseeing access to documents and maintaining confidentiality for important documents. This person will manage the Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Notice process. This person will also perform some light office assistant duties. This will include answering and directing phone calls received at the company. This person will report to the Engineering department.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration or similar field
  • Experience working with many types of files, physical and digital. File, update, and release documents: physical and digital records.
  • Create templates and help improve and streamline the document release process.
  • Ability to organize and preserve paper documents.
  • Thorough knowledge of various kinds of office software
  • Effective communication with coworkers across departments
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Copying, scanning, organizing, and storing documents.
  • Checking for accuracy and editing files as needed.
  • Reviewing and updating technical documents (e.g. manuals and workflows) Key Competencies
  • Knowledge of records management procedures and standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Visio, Adobe, and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Bilingual (Spanish a plus)
  • 2+ years of experience as a document control specialist or related work experience
