Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is searching for qualified Medical Assistants to work throughout the Greater Milwaukee area and surrounding cities including Delafield. 

We currently have full time and part time opportunities within Primary Care Clinics and Specialty Care Clinics. These are all direct hire opportunities!


This position performs the functions of a Medical Assistant on a routine basis. In addition, also performs functions of a clerical nature per the needs of the clinic site. Performs a variety of assigned duties which promote a safe and organized environment for the delivery of services to children and their families within the clinic setting.

  • Understands and satisfies the needs of the neonatal, infant, toddler, pre-school, school-age, adolescent and/or adult patient in regards to their growth and development process.
  • Patient Care
  • Prepares exam rooms to meet safety and clinical requirements.
  • Directs patients and families to exam rooms.
  • Obtains and document patient’s height, weight and vital signs and perform a manual blood pressure.
  • Assists with the collection and documentation of patient information such as health screenings, allergies, and home medications. Reports any observations or concerns to the nurse or provider.
  • Assists the provider in the exam process and with procedures as directed.
  • Administers immunizations and other injections under the direction of provider.
  • Performs point of care testing according to established policies, if applicable.
  • Performs peripheral blood draws, if applicable under the direction of provider
  • Collects and labels specimens and ensures delivery to the appropriate department.
  • Responds to emergency situations as appropriate.

Clinic Operations

  • Maintains clinic flow, monitoring patient location and wait time.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe environment within the clinic area.
  • Assures that the quantity of supplies is adequate and appropriate for the clinic needs.
  • Assures that equipment needed for patient care is available at all times. Addresses any deficiencies or unsafe equipment with the appropriate department. Cleans equipment after use.
  • Communicates with physicians, leaders, and staff to maintain clinic operations.
  • Clerical Support
  • Prepares for clinic by completing paperwork procedures, assuring all necessary information, prior authorizations or pre-certifications, radiographs, and diagnostic studies are available for the clinic appointment.
  • Greets patient and family in a welcoming manner, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
  • Updates demographic and guarantor data in the electronic health record verifies insurance/scans insurance cards, and collects insurance co-pays.
  • Utilizes the electronic clinical information systems to support clinic operations and patient care.
  • Schedules patient appointments and diagnostic testing through the use of the computerized scheduling system and its components. Monitors the daily schedule which includes, but is not limited to, management of daily appointments, no-shows, cancelled appointments, bump list appointments, new referrals, and appointments on the wait list.
  • Interacts effectively with all departments regarding scheduling and delete of appointment calls.
  • Manages telephone calls and documents information appropriately.
  • Advises parent/patients and referral sources of the necessity of obtaining an insurance referral prior to the clinic appointment.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.


  • Requires knowledge generally acquired through a high school education or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred. In lieu of this education, 2 years of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting would be accepted. Primary care/pediatric ambulatory clinic setting highly preferred.
  • AAMA Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Pediatric experience and experience in administering immunizations and other injections preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient population to promote a culturally competent environment.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
  • Physical ability to lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds, as well as push and pull when performing cleaning functions.
  • Frequently bends, lifts, twists, reached, and squats.
  • Occasionally push/pulls and does overhead work.


  • Provides services in a setting where there is potential for exposure to blood and other high risk body fluids, communicable diseases and hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste.
  • There is potential injury from equipment or instruments.
