Goodwill TalentBridge, along with our client, is currently recruiting for 2nd shift Assemblers to work in the Glendale, WI area.

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Assembler B lays out and assembles/disassembles various type of assemblies, assemblies involving precision sub assemblies, custom gearboxes, couplings and spindles having critical dimensional specification and operating relationships.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Includes the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Read blueprints, assembly drawings and routing sheets to determine product specifications, dimensions, required tooling and product layout.  Assembly/disassembly sequence is provided through prints and/or working directions.
  • Position parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled and/or blueprint instructions.
  • Perform skilled fitting, precise adjusting and aligning of parts and mechanisms.
  • Remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.
  • Operate various bench type hand tools, power tools, and presses to modify assemblies to achieve required specifications.
  • Use micrometers, verniers and various other precision measuring devices to adjust and check dimensions. 
  • Troubleshoot assembly problems; notify supervisor of any operation or quality problems.
  • Operate a forklift, jib and overhead bridge cranes to hoist, place or transport material to/from storage and work areas.
  • Process all necessary documentation and paperwork for processes completed.  Update computer records of completed assemblies.
  • Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.  Comply with all quality and safety regulations.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Highschool diploma or GED required
  • Requires one to three years of trades training or equivalent experience and one to three years relevant machine shop experience.
  • Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percent.
  • Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include torque wrenches, impact wrenches, small hand tools, hydraulic press, arbor press, hoist, forklift and various measuring devices.
  • Requires a good understanding of product design, mechanical and gearing principals, tooling, material characteristics, assembly and machine shop procedures.
  • Requires ability to operate a forklift truck and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

SCHEDULE

  • 2nd shift
  • Pay Rate:  $18-22/hr
